Lincoln BIG has revealed it has teamed up with bus company Stage coach and Visit Lincolnshire partnership to reinstate the service, which last operated in 2004.
City of Lincoln Council is now looking for tour guides around Lincoln willing to run the tours.
Lincoln BIG Events Manager said:
“We used to have open top tour bus before, and we’re reinstating that back into the city. The Information so far is that we’ll be launching it this Easter. We’re looking for tour guides so people who are interested should be registering their interest at our visitor information centre or on our website”
The bus will operate for 110 days from Easter, and will tour the city attractions including the Lincoln Cathedral, Bailgate, the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, the Castle, the Lawn, High Street, as well as the Brayford and St Mark’s areas.
The return of the tour bus is part of the Visit Lincoln Partnership’s attempt to attract more visitors to the city. It is hoped that this ‘snapshot tour’ will help raise awareness about the city’s attractions.
