‘Find your Feet’ at Lincoln careers fair

The University of Lincoln's engine shed prepares for the event.

Tomorrow will host the find your feet careers fair at the University of Lincoln’s engine shed.

The event will take place from 11:00am till 03:00pm and will provide information help and advice on graduate careers, student placements, postgraduate study, gap years, and self employment and will also include a CV clinic.

The day has been organised by the University of Lincoln’s careers and employability service, and is open to current and past students. The fair is expected to draw hundreds of current undergraduates and graduates who will take advantage of the array of opportunities, information and advice on offer from a host of external organisations.

Some of the graduate employers that are confirmed to be there include

PwC, Siemens, Lincolnshire Co-operative, Gelder Group, Coca Cola and Rockstar Games.

Students from the university are optimistic for the event gearing up to take full advantage of the help that’s on offer.

Herdy Ramanuj, 20, a business and marketing student at the university who will be attending the event said:

“It’s a great opportunity for us to learn from professionals in the industries and organizations we want to end up in, and hopefully it will help us establish contacts within those organizations, which can only be a good thing.”

Mark Stow, Careers and Employability Services Manager at the University of Lincoln, said: “Despite the economic downturn, our graduates are in demand more than ever before.

“The most effective way to succeed in the current climate is to network with organisations and professionals, and seek to gain as much experience as possible. This event is a great way for students and graduates to meet face-to-face with employers and find out more about the wealth of opportunities available to them.”
