Steve Guinan rescued promotion chasing Kidderminster Harriers a point against an impressive Lincoln City on Saturday afternoon.
City were equal to Kidderminster throughout the match which saw David Holdsworth’s side switch to a 4-3-3 formation giving new signings Nialle Rodney and Louis Almond their first start.
Lincoln got off to a great start when Jefferson Louis flicked in Louis Almond’s free kick in the 20th minute to get his second goal for the club since joining in January.
A heavy rain fall which badly affected the pitch seemed to stifle the first half which saw the Imps display some excellent defensive work.
Both sides remained unchanged for the second half, which was largely uneventful until Kidderminster brought on Guinan who fired past Joe Anyon with 10 seconds to spare after a long ball over the top of City’s defence reached him.
Lincoln manager David Holdsworth was overall pleased with the performance saying: “We came here and played well and were certainly resolute. I thought we were well worthy of a victory, but it wasn’t to be.
“The pitch was awful but you have to be able to play the elements. I felt we did that very well and there were some strong performances.”
